The Nocturnal Environment Observatory pursues the RENOIR research group activity. By this way, our multidisciplinary group of scientists and practitioners goes on with the collaborative work initiated in 2013 regarding the theme of the preservation and valorization of the nocturnal environment.

Conceived as a structure for observation and survey, but also for modeling and experimentation, the Nocturnal Environment Observatory aims to answer social, ecological and health issues. Also action-oriented, it supports the production of local policies devoted to the nocturnal environment (education and formation on the issues of reducing the light footprint and enhancing the value of the darkness as a resource).

The Nocturnal Environment Observatory is supported by the French National Center for Scientific Research.
